Chosen from a data sheet, not a color deck
Protective coatings are specified against a defined exposure: chemical contact, immersion, abrasion, hot tires or fire. Each system states the surface preparation it requires, and that requirement is not advisory. Meet it and the coating performs; miss it and the product fails regardless of how good it was.
That is why preparation is the bulk of the cost on this work. Slabs are mechanically ground rather than washed, and steel is prepared to the standard the manufacturer names.

If a drawing or submittal package already names the system, send it with your enquiry and we will price against it directly rather than substituting something close. Where nothing is specified, the estimate will say what we intend to use and why that choice suits the surface.
Either way the preparation is written into the scope alongside the product, because the two are not separable. A coating only performs to its data sheet if the surface underneath it was prepared the way that sheet requires.
